VENT
I didn’t step foot inside a gym until my late twenties. In all honesty, a major lifestyle change encouraged me to join. After a crazy decade of over indulgence and hedonism, I realised I needed to prioritize my health and well being. Training gives me discipline, routine and mental clarity.
I found boxing around 7 years ago, and immediately fell in love with the sport. Boxing served as an excellent outlet for pent-up energy and stress. The act of punching a heavy bag, sparring or learning new combinations is incredibly rewarding, often cathartic, and never fails to release tension. There’s always something new to learn, and you’re guaranteed a full body workout. Boxing circuits at LUV always push you to be the best version of yourself. Whilst the circuit is demanding, it’s also incredibly rewarding and always powered by a heavy soundtrack.
Distance running has also become a massive part of my life. Whether it’s on the trails with my dogs, a local 10k, or running the coastal footpath on the Jurassic Coast. Over the last few years, I have completed 7 Ultra Marathon distances and 3 Marathons. There’s something incredibly powerful about stepping into the unknown, both mentally and physically, and running distances that seem impossible.
Outside of the gym, spending time with my family is priority.
